DRILLING PILE TESTING
Inspections of our bored piles are carried out according to the following standards:
LVS EN 1997-1; ISO/DIS 22477-1; ГOST 5686-2012
TILTS SIA offers to test bored piles with the following methods:
-
Static testing
-
Integrity testing (with ultrasound) - PIT
-
Dynamic testing
-
Crosshole Sonic Logging (CSL) testing
STATIC TESTING OF DRILL PILES
Static test – determination of the bearing capacity of the pile depending on the technical data of the pile and soil conditions. Static tests of piles can be carried out:
A
With reinforced concrete blocks
B
With additionally constructed anchor piles
DRILL PILE INTEGRITY TESTING (USING ULTRASOUND)
Pile integrity test - PIT - this method makes it possible to detect individual pile defects (ruptures, expansions, narrowing, depressions caused by soil exposure, pits) and to determine the length of the piles.
Ultrasonic pile inspection

DYNAMIC TESTING OF DRILL PILES
Dynamic Test (DLT)
The dynamic test (DLT) allows to determine the bearing capacity of the foundation and side surfaces of the piles, to evaluate the integrity of the piles, as well as their sinking. Measurements are analyzed in real time using special software. One of the test results is a static test simulation in the form of a calculated load test curve.
The tests are performed with a specially made free fall hammer, which has been owned by TILTS SIA since 2021
CROSSHOLE SONIC LOGGING (CSL) TESTING OF DRILL PILE
Here is a very accurate method for determining structural integrity and concrete uniformity in diaphragm walls in bored piles:
• Widely used for more than 30 years.
• Practical and economical for deep foundation integrity testing.
Crosshole Sonic Logging (CSL)
The standard size of bored piles is 1000 - 1400 mm
Method
Crosshole sonic logging (CSL) is a method to determine the structural integrity of drilled shafts and other concrete piles. The CSL method is considered to be more accurate than sonic echo testing in the determination of structural soundness of concrete within the drilled shaft inside of the rebar cage. CSL) is one of the most accurate pile integrity tests to determine the integrity of deep foundation elements. CSL sends ultrasonic pulses through the concrete from one probe to another probe present in a pile and detects the structural integrity based on the received waves.
Advantages
-
Quick and safe – CSL tests performed in less than 5 minutes
-
Can perform tests for above and below waterline structures
-
Identify and locate the presence of multiple defects
-
CT can deliver high-resolution images with unsurpassed accuracy and interpretation simplicity
-
Perform QA regarding the presence of poor quality concrete, voids, honeycombing and soil intrusion
-
Identify the size, shape, severity, nature and location of anomalies
